How to Play:

Objective

Aim to secure the highest number of tricks in each round to claim victory.

Dealing Cards

A standard 52-card deck is utilized, with only 32 cards active. Each player is dealt two sets of four cards, resulting in eight cards per player.

Choosing the Trump Suit

The player on the dealer's right picks the trump suit, which holds superior value throughout the round.

Leading the First Trick

The player who determined the trump suit initiates the first trick by playing a card from their hand. Other players must follow suit if possible; otherwise, they can play any card.

Winning Tricks

The highest card of the leading suit claims the trick unless trumps are played. In such cases, the highest trump card wins. The winner of a trick leads the following one.

Counting Tricks and Tokens

Following the eighth trick, both teams tally their successes. Achieving 5, 6, or 7 tricks with the trump suit grants one token to the trump choosing team. Securing an equal number of tricks without using trumps awards two tokens to the opposing team. Obtaining all 8 tricks results in three tokens known as "Kapothi." In case both teams win an identical number of tricks (4 each), no tokens transfer; however, the next team to claim more than 4 tricks gains an extra token.

Winning the Game

The first team to amass 10 or more tokens emerges as the victorious champion of Sinhala Omi!
